Job Title: Director of Partnerships
Type: Full-Time

Position Summary
Innovation Baseball Partners, is seeking a dynamic Director of Partnerships to lead sponsorship and partnership generation efforts for new clubs under development.

The Director of Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing a strategy for the clubs' partnership and sponsorship portfolio, as a function of its revenue stream. The role is accountable for driving strategy while also supporting the delivery of a best-in-class partner experience. 

This role collaborates closely with the Director of Operations at the club-level to bring local partnerships to fruition, and with the Senior Vice President of Partnerships at the IBP-level to create cross-team partnerships. 

This is a senior leadership position requiring strategic vision, hands-on execution, cross-department collaboration, and a deep understanding of the Southern California market.

Key Responsibilities
1. Sponsorships and Partnerships, Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of annual and multi-year sponsorship plans
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across local and national partners
  • Search and develop partnerships with local vendors that strengthen the brand narrative
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and baseball departments to create integrated revenue-driving sponsorship campaigns and packages
  • Collaborate with the IBP SVP to develop local iterations of national partnerships
  • Engage with local businesses to develop a pop-up vendor pipeline for in-stadium offerings

2. Ticketing & Hospitality
  • Collaborate with ticketing on creating world-class hospitality experiences
  • Drive initial premium seating and hospitality product development (e.g., suites, party decks/areas, etc)
  • Partner with local businesses on ticket packages & cross-promotions as relevant to the partnerships portfolio
  • Support development of a Ticketing platform partnership for IBP’s teams

3. Merchandise & Retail
  • Collaborate with the Merch Partner and Head of Marketing to align merchandise strategy with brand, promotions, and fan behavior
  • Support development of Merch Partnerships for merchandise creation, inventory management, and logistics to support on-site sales
  • Set and track per-cap merchandise targets on a per-game basis in partnership with the Head of Marketing

4.  Budgeting & Reporting
  • Establish performance KPIs, partnership forecasts, and revenue reporting protocols.
  • Ensure SponsorCX is up-to-date and accurate
  • Monitor progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed
  • Present updates to executive leadership and ownership
  • Document best practices for partnerships and participate in Partnership team development at the IBP-level

Qualifications
7+ years of experience in roles focused on sponsorships & partnerships, preferably in professional sports, entertainment, or venue management
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sponsorship targets across multiple verticals
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and mentoring teams
  • Strategic thinker with ability to execute and adapt in a fast-paced, seasonal business
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Preferred Attributes
  • Deep understanding of the minor league baseball landscape and fan base
  • History or experience within the Southern California market
  • Passion for community engagement and building local partnerships
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a data-informed approach
  • Familiarity with CRM (SponsorCX) and ticketing platforms (e.g., vivenu, Tickets.com, SeatGeek, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic considerations
Incentive Compensation:  Eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan designed to reward revenue partnerships and sponsorship sales
Benefits:  Standard company benefits, which include medical, dental, vision, life-style spending account, 401(k) plan, and paid time off
