Summary/Objective:
The Sugar Land Space Cowboys Mascot Coordinator position is responsible for the coordination of the mascot program and performance, and other community engagement efforts through grassroots marketing.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Mascot Program
- Serve as lead performer for all mascot appearances including in-game and community appearances.
- Hire and train assistants and backup performers.
- Design and execute mascot skits for all home games.
- Coordinate with partnership team to fulfill sponsorship needs.
- Schedule appearances and proactively seek new opportunities to engage with community, including ideation of new mascot programs.
- Maintain mascot costumes and props.
- Contribute to Orion’s social media account with assistance of Digital Marketing Manager.
Community Relations & Marketing
- Lead operations of annual spring and summer reading program including oversight and production of printed collateral, scheduling and fulfilling in-school reading sessions and assembly, and facilitation of prize/ticket distribution.
- Organize and coordinate Little League Opening Day appearances in coordination with Sales Team.
- Maintain and fulfill donation requests in timely manner to maximize community impact in partnership with Community Relations Manager.
- Assist Community Relations Manager with other duties as needed.
- Collaborate with marketing team to plan ballpark entertainment activities including pregame performances, national anthem singers, community tabling efforts, etc.
- Work with Ballpark Entertainment Manager to hire, train and manage Space Squad promotions team, backup mascot performers and mascot assistants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of two (2) years of performance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent performance skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Strong time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and technically minded; demonstrate excellent follow-through.
- Understanding of the game of baseball.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and selected holidays.
- Creative and proactive problem solver.
Preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years management experience preferred.
- Experience in sports or entertainment industry.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work on non-game days are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to the nature of this position, the position requires hours of work and days that include frequent nights, weekends, and holidays.

No travel is expected for this position.
