Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt/ Seasonal

 

Summary/Objective:

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are looking for a Special Events Associate. The Special Events department executes all non-baseball events at Segra Stadium. The Special Events team hosts events such as, but not limited to, college baseball games, festivals, and private events. This position will give you the opportunity to learn the process of executing an event from start to finish. This position will require working nights and weekends, as most events are held during these times. Applicants must be able to work during the Special Events busy season (September through December), both in the office during the day and at the events as they happen.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside clients from start to finish.
  • Make sales calls and inquire about potential events.
  • Take on responsibilities for Pecktoberfest and Fayetteville Holiday Lights.
  • Assist in the planning process for large-scale private and public events.
  • Help plan and budget for events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Education and/or Experience & Skills:

Required

  • Comfortable making and executing requests.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and promptness.
  • Quick learner with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Requires the ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

Travel

Rare travel may be expected for this position.
