The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are the Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, playing at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Position Overview:
The Director, Marketing & Creative Services is responsible for overseeing the Fayetteville Woodpeckers Marketing department, driving fan engagement, and delivering a first-class ballpark experience. This role will blend strategic marketing leadership with hands-on oversight of creative team and the in-stadium entertainment. This role will have oversight of our Ballpark Entertainment, Broadcast & Communications, and Creative departments, continuing to create a second-to-none fan experience while growing the club’s footprint in the greater Fayetteville region.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Lead the staff responsible for marketing & social media, creative design, ballpark entertainment, and broadcast & communications.
Foster an environment of creativity, productive brainstorming, and solution-based problem solving, while creating a culture of outside the box thinking.
Develop a strategic marketing and promotional strategy designed to sell tickets and maximize brand exposure.
Oversee and manage the marketing budget, allocating and investing funds while tracking ROI.
Lead our graphic design & video production team to establish our overall annual creative campaign while maintaining brand standards.
Oversee the ballpark experience at Segra Stadium including creative elements and entertainment.
Work closely with Corporate Partnership team to identify asset values and opportunities for revenue generation.
Ideate, create, and deliver authentic and engaging content that excites and entertains fans.
Create built-for-social content and style guide that incorporates animation, graphic design, product photography, and video.
Collaborate with Ticketing, Partnerships, Communications, and Game Operations to ensure alignment and consistency.
Track advertising ROI and single game ticket sales as functions of marketing and advertising value.
Identify market trends and new technologies that help reach the club’s overall business objectives.
Lead grassroots marketing efforts, engaging with the community and driving potential group sales strategies.
Education and/or Experience & Skills:
Required Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience leading a marketing department, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) required.
Expert knowledge in all relevant social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, etc.
Strong ability to lead and work within teams.
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Creative eye for copy, video, and design, and experience working with designers.
Excellent planning, organization, and workflow management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professional or collegiate sports experience preferred.
Experience in developing and executing game-day or large-scale event entertainment preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages all employees of the marketing department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Travel:
Rare travel may be expected for this position.
