Summary

The Director, Marketing is responsible for all aspects of the Corpus Christi Hooks brand and communications, including marketing, advertising, digital, video and ballpark entertainment.

This position requires leadership, organization, budget management, strategic thinking and creativity.  Facilitating a working environment that fosters creative thinking, brand recognition and continually enhance the fan experience is key. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage department staff to successfully execute all facets of brand and facility marketing, game production and entertainment.
  • Devise and implement annual advertising plan including budget, ad campaign and media buys.
  • Contribute to conception of giveaway promotional calendar. Work in close coordination with Sponsorships and Ticket Departments to maximize revenue streams related to promotional calendar.
  • Oversee planning, implementation and execution of all email marketing campaigns and management of email database.
  • Advise Community Coordinator position on initiatives, fulfillment and outreach.
  • Develop revenue producing experience concepts including Theme Night Collection, Father’s Day Batting Practice, among others.
  • Executive produce all facets of gameday experience including game script, in-game entertainment, video production and graphics.
  • Support Senior Manager, Graphics with communications to Major League Baseball for annual required style guide and uniform submissions and approvals .
  • Oversee social media content/schedule across all platforms to ensure highest level of performance, engagement and growth.
  • Serve as liaison to vendors including Daktronics, creative consulting, and related software programs.
  • Strategically evaluate revenue performance to achieve KPI.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Related undergraduate degree or education + equivalent experience in marketing, production or other closely related field. MS or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing sports and entertainment environment.
  • Proven track record of results in digital growth.
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated success in building, motivating, and leading teams.
  • Strong personnel management, collaboration, communication, time management and organizational skills. Proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, Daktronics and control room equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Strong ability AND DESIRE to work with others in a collaborative, respectful manner.
  • Able to travel as needed.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

Travel

Rare travel may be expected for this position.
