POSITION SUMMARY
The Music Operator will handle in-game music and sound effects during Wild Things home games. They will play players' walk-up songs, ballpark music, and various sound effects that will pertain to the entertainment on the field. This position uses the Sound Director program. This position is paid per game.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Control music and sound effects for the duration of the game
- Help create playlists to play pre-game
- Play sound effects relating to baseball prompts
- Play player walk-up songs
- Help decide what music to play for specific promotions
- Control volume and levels for P.A., wireless microphones, and music.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in basic computer use
- Basic experience with sound mixer
- Experience with Sound Director or a similar program is preffered
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Able to pay attention to the game and know what is going on
- Communicate with the game director and game presentation team
- Take direction well
- Be able to adapt on the spot
- Knowledge of songs that will be played during games (knowing what song you are playing)
- Knowledge of baseball and how it is played
- Basic knowledge of pop culture and musical variety
- Ability to “read the room,” capitalize on significant moments in the game
