Internship Summary:
The Washington Wild Things, a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, are seeking multiple individuals for Multimedia Internships for the 2023 season. The Multimedia Intern will complete tasks of a Photography and Graphic Design nature and will lend their hand in our in-game/broadcast productions. This individual will assist at home baseball games and events at the park by capturing and editing photos and performing basic graphic design tasks. The Multimedia Internship is a perfect fit for those looking to work in the sports industry and provides students with valuable hands-on behind-the-scenes experience in the fast-paced environment.
 
 Reports to: Creative Services Manager, Media Relations Staff
 
 Responsibilities:
  • Operate DSLR cameras
  • Capture images of: 
    • Game Action (Warmups, Intros, In-Game, Celebrations, etc.) 
    • Fans (Groups, Celebrations, etc.) 
    • Promotions (First Pitches, National Anthem Signers, 7th Inning Stretch, Performers, etc.) 
    • Mascot 
    • Events (SipAway Festival, Concerts, etc.) 
  • Assist on all assigned shoots and editing
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite (Photoshop)
  • Develop ideas for graphic elements or promotions to be used during the season
  • Organize and archive daily game photos
  • Perform basic graphic design duties
  • Create and update gameday social media graphics
  • Create social media and video board advertisements
  • Update/create new player headshot images for video board use
  • Works home games, events, and daytime office hours if necessary
  • Occasionally required to lift heavy loads and haul production gear
 
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Multimedia, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Technical experience in photography and editing and/or experience in Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Receiving school credit for internship
  • Passion for sports and general knowledge of baseball
  • Energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Able to assume other responsibilities as required
  • Must be available to work from beginning (early-mid May) to end of season (early-mid September)
  • Ability to handle numerous projects & meet deadlines
  • Some experience in lighting and shoot setup is a plus
