Mission Statement:
The mission of the Washington Wild Things’ is to provide affordable family fun and entertainment for all ages. The main way we achieve this is with our mascot, The Wild Thing. The Wild Thing interacts with fans young and old, providing lifelong memories of their time at Wild Things Park. The Wild Thing is also a staple at corporate functions, charitable events, and seasonal parades.

Reports to: Promotions Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Attend all scheduled mascot appearances during gamedays and non-gamedays 
  • Attend all scheduled home Wild Things games from early May through mid September
  • Perform as the mascot in an appropriate manner (photos, signatures, dancing, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • Previous mascot experience preferred, but not required
  • Federal and State Clearances required before first appearance; the Washington Wild Things are willing to pay to get these certifications, if necessary
  • Willing and able to work irregular and late hours, including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Willing and able to travel for events in the greater Washington, Pittsburgh, and Wheeling areas
  • Energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Ability to perform in costume for long periods of time, possibly in high heat and humidity
