Reports To: Assistant General Manager
Assignments will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with day-to-day Merchandise operations; receiving inventory, pricing, labeling, and stocking.
- Keep accurate inventory counts of all merchandise products.
- Creating displays and store layout to increase traffic and sales.
- Recommend merchandise based on consumer feedback and observations.
- Gain experience managing a part-time staff of 2-3 people.
- Assist in training the part-time staff in all areas of the merchandise store.
- Maintain a clean and organized merchandise store to ensure a superior fan experience.
- Fulfill all online merchandise orders and update online store products and inventory.
- Facilitate the ValleyCats ‘Cats Crew Kid’s Club through the merchandise store.
- Assist in developing a strategy to help promote the store, provide incentives that ultimately increase merchandise sales. Including social media, coupons, and sales.
Qualifications:
- Prior retail experience is a bonus, but not required.
- Self-motivated worker without needing constant direction.
- An organized and detail oriented individual.
- Must have strong computer skills - MS Office, Quickbooks POS.
- Ability to be at the stadium during night and weekend events.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be enthusiastic with a desire to learn through hands on experience.
- Must be a team player with leadership skills.
- Previous retail experience is a plus.
Compensation and Duration of Employment: Position will pay $14.50 per hour. Position will include store setup in early May, (51) home games, plus special events, inventory days, etc.
