Compensation: Monthly Stipend
The Schaumburg Boomers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated college students to be a part of the 2026 season. As an intern, you will obtain first-hand experience in the entire operation of a successful professional baseball franchise.
A Promotions & Merchandising Intern will primarily be focused on ensuring the Boomers fans have a wonderful experience by providing exciting & engaging promotions throughout the season via on-field games, theme nights, customer service, community outreach, and other opportunities.
Every day is different with the Boomers, but a typical day might include:
- Represent the Schaumburg Boomers organization, partners, and sponsors with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm at all times
- Display outstanding teamwork and communication skills with an energetic personality
- Plan and execute all aspects of promotions
- Theme nights, on-field entertainment, game production, etc.
- Assist with the creation of in-game entertainment, specifically pertaining to theme nights
- Putting yourself out there
- Dancing, cheering, and engaging with the crowd
- Ensure the team stores are presentable for each game
- Stocking, cleaning, inventory, etc.
- Participate in various community events such as parades, tabling events, etc.
- Help with the day-to-day function of the organization. You may be asked to do several tasks. It’s part of the all-inclusive experience!
You’re a good fit if you:
- Are currently attending college
- Are able to work all 51 home games and additional off-site events
- Have a strong attention to detail & organizational skills
- Have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-task work environment
- Have superior oral communication, writing, and editing skills
- Are highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Have a strong desire to work in a team environment
- Have an upbeat personality with the ability to positively interact with fans
