Compensation: Monthly Stipend

The Schaumburg Boomers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated students to be part of the 2026 season. As an intern, you will obtain first-hand experience in the entire operation of an award-winning professional baseball franchise in the Chicagoland area.
 
A Hospitality/Food & Beverage Intern would primarily be focused on ensuring the wonderful experience of fans by providing exceptional customer service, managing the preparation of food and beverages, and assisting in the execution of hospitality events. 
 
Every day is different with the Boomers, but a typical day may include:
  • Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the concession stands
  • Assisting in the catering kitchen with food preparation
  • Assisting in managing over 130 seasonal concessions & suite employees
  • Operating, troubleshooting, and training employees on Toast point-of-sale system
  • Working closely with the Vice President of Food & Beverage, as well as the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, on inventory management and rotation, ordering product, receiving deliveries, month-end financials, etc.
  • Working closely with the Director of Hospitality for various events on the suite level & Schaumburg Club
  • Participate in various community events such as parades, tabling events, private events, etc.
  • Helping with the day-to-day function of the organization. You might be asked to do any number of things; it’s part of the all-inclusive experience!

You’re a good fit if you:
  • Are currently attending college
  • Have an interest in food & beverage, as well as private events
  • Are able to work all 51 home games and additional off-site events; extended hours required
  • Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-task work environment
  • Have superior oral communication skills
  • Are highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Have a strong desire to work in a team environment
  • Have the ability to lift 50+ pounds
