Company Overview:

The Joliet Slammers are Joliet’s hometown professional baseball team, competing in the Frontier League — a Partner League of Major League Baseball. We’re dedicated to delivering unforgettable experiences for fans throughout the city of Joliet and the greater Chicagoland area. The right individual will play a key role in upholding and elevating that standard across all departments.

Eligibility
An emphasis will be placed on students seeking internships for an excellent educational experience. Therefore, it is preferred if students have achieved excellent academic achievement and would be receiving college credit for the internship experience.

Evaluations
The Joliet Slammers will provide each intern with evaluations in accordance with their respective school’s requirements. Further evaluations will be given by the Slammers full time employees.

Available Internship Emphasis
All Joliet Slammers internships are general education by design as each intern will have education in most departments listed above. However, each intern will be given an emphasis (listed below) to focus their individual education. Every intern will be required to present to other interns regarding their emphasis to enable a holistic learning experience.

Areas of Education
  • How to set up, operate and troubleshoot cameras and microphones
  • How to set up, operate and troubleshoot audio mix boards
  • Curating music and audio cues for live events
  • Curating video content for broadcast and live events
  • Designing supplemental content for social media
  • Plan and design infographics for live stream and in-house video display
  • Draft scripts and/or reports for live commentary or pre-recorded reports

Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with DSLR and/or digital camcorders
  • Familiarity Adobe Creative Suite, including: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & In Design
  • Familiarity of Windows and Mac OS
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic
  • Passion for sports and strong desire to work in a team environment that fosters creativity, fun and energy
  • Can work both individually and in a team setting
  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university
  • Must be able to earn college credit for internship
