Ticket Sales Intern - Job Description

Company Overview:

The Joliet Slammers are the professional baseball team in Joliet, a part of the Frontier League, a Partner League of Major League Baseball, that are dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for fans in the city of Joliet and surrounding Chicagoland area. The right individual will be an integral part of the team to promote the Slammers positive culture, attitudes, and experiences for fans of all ages across all departments.

Brief Overview:

The Ticket Sales Intern for the Joliet Slammers will assist with the day to day operation of the ticketing department. This position will gain experience in everything ticketing within the Joliet Slammers Baseball Team. The Ticket Sales Intern will help with the execution of the Slammers 2026 ticket sales plan by supporting the ticket sales and operations departments. Required to work all 51 home games as well as work office hours when the team is away, and will report directly to the Director of Ticket Sales. This is an unpaid position, the Slammers can offer to sign off on any volunteer hours or credit for college classes.


Job Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify future sales leads
  • Create and analyze ticket sales reports
  • Make outbound sales calls
  • Create and distribute sales collateral 
  • Utilize SCORE CRM and Ticketreturn to create and track deals
  • Assist with the execution of Slammers game days and community events
  • Provide exemplary customer service
  • Help with the fulfillment of ticket orders
  • Planning and executing all aspects of ticket sales and associated tasks.
  • Promote the Joliet Slammers at local community events
  • Represent the Joliet Slammers organization, partners, and sponsors with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm at all times.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Ticket Sales


The ideal candidate:
  • Currently attending a college or university.
  • Able to work all 51 or a majority of home games and additional off-site events.
  • Ability to work office hours on non game days, 8am-4pm.
  • Familiar with SCORE CRM and TicketReturn or similar systems.
  • Has previous sports industry experience. (Box office experience is a plus!)
  • Has a strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
  • Has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and everchanging work environment.
  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills/experience.
  • Are highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Has reliable transportation to commute to downtown Joliet.
