Player Branding & Development Program Coordinator – Internship

The Joliet Slammers are Joliet’s hometown professional baseball team, competing in the Frontier League — a Partner League of Major League Baseball. Program Overview

The Player Branding & Development Program is a season-long initiative designed to help Slammers players build their personal brands, grow their fan engagement, and prepare for opportunities beyond the playing field. Through a blend of media production, analytics, social content, and community involvement, the program helps players become more marketable and better equipped for long-term success in and out of baseball.

Position Summary

The Player Branding & Development Intern will support the planning, execution, and promotion of all program elements. This role blends digital media, content creation, analytics integration, and direct player interaction. It’s an excellent opportunity for a student passionate about sports communication, athlete branding, digital storytelling, and professional sports development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Capture and organize game highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content

-Assist with graphics, short-form videos, social posts, and highlight packages

-Collaborate across departments to incorporate TrackMan data and analytics into player content

-Support player media training sessions and coordinate with Community Relations on appearances

-Prepare weekly reports summarizing player performance, content metrics, and engagement trends

-Maintain the Player Branding archives, including photo, video, and analytics assets

-Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to elevate program visibility and impact

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

-Major in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field

-Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube)

-Experience with video or graphic editing software (Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Photoshop, etc.)

-Interest in baseball, athlete development, and sports marketing/branding

-Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with players, coaches, and staff

-Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Schedule & Compensation:

-Duration: May – September (full season)

-Hours: ~25 hours/week, including select home games and events

-Compensation: Academic credit
