Company Overview:

The Slammers are the professional baseball team in Joliet, part of the Frontier League, a Partner League of Major League Baseball, and are dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for fans in the city of Joliet and the surrounding Chicagoland area. The right individual will be an integral part of the team to promote the Slammers’ positive culture, attitudes, and experiences for fans of all ages across all departments.

Position Overview:

The Slammers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated college students to be a part of the 2026 season. As a Marketing & Partner Services Intern, you will gain first-hand experience across sports marketing, digital media, theme night execution, partner relations, and in-game entertainment. The intern will play a key role in shaping the fan experience through creative content, promotions, community events, and sponsor support — all while representing the Slammers brand with high energy and professionalism.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create marketing elements and assist with outreach for theme nights, including graphics, flyers, video board content, and press releases.
  • Manage the Slammers social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok) during the season.
  • Support the Partner Services team by engaging with sponsors and providing great customer service during games.
  • Assist in taking photos and creating proof-of-performance reports for sponsor recaps.
  • Interact with fans in a friendly, professional, and fun manner at all games and community events.
  • Assist with mascots at community appearances and theme nights.
  • Brainstorm, help create, and execute theme nights and promotions.
  • Assist pre-game as needed, including set-up and execution of game-day elements
  • Support the overall day-to-day function of the organization — multitasking is part of the fun!
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Events and Marketing.

The ideal candidate:
  • Is currently attending a college or university.
  • Is available to work all 51 (or a majority of) home games and various community events.
  • Has strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Is creative, energetic, and interested in marketing, media, or communications.
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Has reliable transportation to downtown Joliet.
  • Previous sports, marketing, or social media experience is a plus!

This is an unpaid internship for college credit.
