The Joliet Slammers are an independent baseball team located in Joliet, IL in the Frontier League dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for fans in the city of Joliet and surrounding areas . As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and results-driven Manager/Director of Ticket Sales to join our talented team.

Position Summary / Objective
As the Director/Manager of Ticket Sales, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and creative ticket sales strategies to maximize club revenue and enhance the overall fan experience. You will lead and mentor a team of ticket sales account executives, foster strong relationships with clients, and collaborate with various departments to achieve organizational sales goals while providing exemplary customer service. During Events, the Manager/Director of Ticket Sales may be called upon for other duties such as game-day/event set up, customer service, ticket taking, concessions, promotions, stadium operations, and other duties as assigned. The Manager/Director, Ticket Sales will report to, and collaborate with, the EVP of Sales and Marketing. 


Primary (Essential) Duties:

  • Work with EVP, Sales and Marketing to provide strategic direction and leadership to the ticket sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing ticket sales team
  • Evaluate the daily activities of the sales team and provide regular feedback, training, coaching and leadership during weekly reviews
  • Provide guidance on the sales process with every team member, including assistance with prospecting, qualifying potential clients, presenting solutions and hosting consistent meetings with staff on a regular basis
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the community that will encourage ticket sales and build a sales pipeline
  • Represent the organization in the Joliet and surrounding community at various events and work to identify new key community relationships and partnerships that will assist in growing the organization
  • Actively remain aware of trends and developments within our league and industry and provide ideas and insights to improve our ticket sales efforts
  • Work closely with marketing, operations, and other departments to coordinate ticket sales efforts with overall organizational objectives
  • Prepare regular reports on sales metrics, revenue forecasts, and other relevant key performance indicators
  • Achieving at least 80 touch points a day, with a minimum of 50 phone calls
  • Perform assigned duties at all home games as well other events held at the Slammers’ Stadium
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in business/sales/marketing/sports management or similar concentration
  • 3+ years of experience in sports ticket sales or other B2B and B2C sales
  • Minimum two (2) years of sales leadership experience
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Experience with CRM systems and relevant Ticketing Software
  • Proven ability to build, develop and retain a staff

  • Must be able to work evenings, holidays and weekends, as required
  • Must complete a successful background check
