Food & Beverage Internship (Paid) – Summer 2026

Position Overview:
Join one of the most talked-about brands in independent baseball and kickstart your career in sports entertainment and hospitality! The Joliet Slammers Food & Beverage Intern will work directly with the Director of Food & Beverage in a fast-paced, hands-on, and uniquely fun ballpark environment. This internship offers meaningful experience across all areas of food and beverage operations, including:

-Large-scale food production
-Concessions management
-Staff training and scheduling
-Cost control and menu development
-Special event planning and execution
-Culinary skill development
-Inventory and cash-handling systems
-Administrative tasks related to HR and operations

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling more than 60 game-day F&B employees.
-Support daily ballpark food and beverage preparation and end-of-day shutdown processes.
-Conduct stocking, restocking, and inventory management of all concession stands.
-Complete food and labor cost analysis for planning and financial reporting purposes.
-Assist in planning, prepping, and executing non-game day events and special functions.
-Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive, team-oriented environment.
-Support the Director of F&B with culinary tasks, menu development, organization, and administrative duties.
-Perform additional duties as assigned to support game-day and event operations.


Qualifications:
-Must be available in-person May 1–September 5, 2025 (or as close as possible; part-time availability starting in March is a plus).
-Willingness to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays — including all 51 (or a majority of) home games and select special events.
-Strong communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service.
-Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
-Team-first mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
-Must bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to have fun.
-Interest in hospitality management, culinary arts, sports food service, event management, or restaurant operations is strongly preferred.

This is a paid internship offering hands-on professional experience in a live sports and entertainment environment.
