Position Overview:

The Slammers are seeking enthusiastic, outgoing, and self-motivated college students to join our 2026 season as Box Office & Ticket Operations Interns. This internship provides hands-on experience inside the ticketing and fan operations engine of a professional baseball franchise.

Box Office Interns will work directly with our ticketing and game day staff to ensure every fan has a seamless, positive, and memorable Slammers experience — from the moment they purchase a ticket to the last out of the night. This role includes customer service, ticket sales support, theme night interaction, community outreach, and assisting with daily operational needs across the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Joliet Slammers, our partners, and sponsors with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm at all times.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all fans — both in person and over the phone.
  • Support ticket sales efforts, including helping fans find the best ticketing options for their needs.
  • Assist with all box office operations: opening/closing procedures, stocking, cleaning, inventory, and troubleshooting.
  • Help execute the setup and operations of Slammers home games, theme nights, on-field promotions, and special events.
  • Participate in local community events, appearances, and parades to proudly represent the Slammers brand.
  • Display excellent communication skills, a strong team mentality, and a positive, high-energy presence.
  • Embrace a fast-paced environment where multitasking is the norm — and a good attitude goes a long way.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily organizational needs.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
  • Able to work all 51 (or a majority of) Slammers home games plus off-site community events.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving, constantly evolving work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service experience.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior sports or live event experience preferred (box office experience is a plus!).
  • Reliable transportation to and from downtown Joliet.
