Position Overview:
The Accounting Intern will support the Manager of Business Operations during the team’s active season, assisting with daily accounting tasks, financial recordkeeping, and reporting. This entry-level role is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in sports finance and accounting operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Help prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Support reconciliation of bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
- Organize and maintain financial files, invoices, and documentation.
- Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems.
- Assist with tracking team-related expenses, ticketing revenue, and game-day financial activity.
- Help with audit preparation and other seasonal financial projects as needed.
- Perform general administrative support for the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google; experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Willingness to work a seasonal schedule, including potential evenings or weekends during peak periods or game days.
