The Evansville Otters have seasonal positions available for the 2026 season.

Built in 1915, Bosse Field is the third oldest operating ballpark in the country. Interns have a chance to work in one of America’s last remaining true baseball cathedrals.

Everyone working in minor league baseball wears many different “hats,” so a willingness to go above and beyond one’s normal duties is expected. Candidates are required to be enthusiastic with a great desire to put on a night of entertainment and memories for all the fans at historic Bosse Field.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute all field and bullpen operations including, but not limited to, turf management, fertilization, edging, base area, home plate and mound preparation, warning track maintenance, and infield surface maintenance 
  • Prepare the field in a high quality and efficient manner in order to effectively facilitate the daily practice, pre-game and in-game schedule 
  • Facilitate the set-up and breakdown of all equipment, including batting cage, screens, turf mats, etc. for batting practice and general practice
  • Oversee all tarp usage and post-game field and turf maintenance as necessary and monitor weather conditions to protect the field along with the GM
  • Maintain upkeep of “garage” and storage area. As well as general landscaping of the CF picnic area 
  • Operate and maintain all grounds equipment in order to extend its useful life while minimizing repair and replacement costs  
  • Assist the Operations Director with various operational duties related to the upkeep of the ballpark on an as-needed basis 
  • Other duties as assigned




Requirements
  • Ideal candidate will be in a Field/Turf Management program or a related field and previous experience maintaining a baseball field or similar sports venue field
  •  Must be quick-thinking and able to work with a wide variety of personalities
  • Position runs from Late April – September
  • Ability to work flexible and demanding hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative with projects and events
