Who We Are:
The Brockton Rox are a professional baseball team providing affordable, family-friendly entertainment in the Frontier League, a Major League Baseball Partner League. With Red Sox legend and Hall-of-Famer Jim Rice as a part-owner, the Rox play their home games at the 4,700-capacity Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, MA; located approximately 45-minutes south of Boston. Playing nearly a 100-game schedule, the Frontier League has 18-teams with presence in and around several major markets in the eastern, central and southern United States as well as Canada.
The Team President of the Brockton Rox will be the organization's top executive and will oversee daily operations including, but not limited to business operations, ticket sales and corporate sponsorships, marketing, concessions, stadium operations, accounting, and community relations.
Specific Responsibilties Include:
- Departmental Leadership: Manages and oversees various departments such as marketing, public relations, sales, advertising, accounting, stadium operations, concessions, and community relations.
- Financial Oversight: Responsible for the financial health and profitability of the team, focusing on revenue generation and cost management.
- Revenue Generation: Drives income through multiple channels including ticket and sponsorship sales, season ticket and group sales packages, concessions, and merchandise.
- Marketing and Fan Engagement: Working to increase attendance and engagement by ensuring a positive experience for guests while creating and overseeing the execution of strategic plans that align with the team's sales and marketing objectives while also addressing the unique dynamics of the Rox brand in suburban Boston.
- Strategic Planning: Develops and implements business strategies to expand the team's brand and market reach.
- Experience: Has served as a Vice President or General Manager within a sports organization; specializing in sales, marketing, and/or administrative roles. Strong business and leadership skills are required; a passion for sports with knowledge of New England and the Boston market and surrounding communities is ideal.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in business, sales, marketing, sports management or a similar concentration.
- Minimum 5-years of sports leadership with a professional team or in college athletics.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills; with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with employees, vendors and clients at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
- Experience with CRM systems and relevant ticketing software.
- Proven ability to build, develop and retain a staff.
- Team above self-mentality.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Desire to cultivate strong relationships within and outside of the organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while prioritizing and leading multiple tasks at the same time.
- Must be able to work evenings, holidays and weekends, as required.
