DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Boston Red Sox Marketing Department is focused on supporting ticket sales and organizational initiatives through digital advertising, email marketing, promotions, and social media channels for the organization. We showcase both on-field and off-the-field products including player marketing, online game coverage, broadcast support, and outbound ticket sales messaging, all to encourage fan growth.
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The social media manager will serve as the Boston Red Sox brand voice across all major social media platforms. This role will inform channel strategy and manage the day-to-day content calendar, crafting posts and sharing content in-real time. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee content calendars for all social channels including Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat.
  • Provide real-time in-game social media coverage on all owned-channels.
  • Coordinate with partnerships teams and MLB to develop branded content and sponsored series across social media.
  • Maintain brand style guide to inform the organization’s brand and tone.
  • Work alongside creative services and video productions teams to develop extensive content plans focused around Fenway Park and player marketing.
  • Supervise community management strategy via platform inboxes and fan engagement.
  • Assist with influencer programming.
  • Manage team of social media producers. 

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-5 years experience publishing social content for a brand or company with a substantial social media following. Sports and team social media experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and partners.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong written skills with full grasp of grammar and language structure.
  • Advanced knowledge of Major League Baseball and the game of baseball with an understanding of online and internet trends.  
  • Self-starter with ability to work in fast-paced environment with non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe suite, specifically Photoshop.
  • Bilingual is a plus (English and Spanish).
