DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Partnership Sales team at Fenway Sports Management serves as a fully integrated sales organization for Fenway Sports Group. The team is responsible for driving significant revenue, working with FSG’s owned and operated properties as well as strategic partners across the portfolio. We accomplish our goals by cultivating relationships with world class brands and providing customized solutions to tell powerful stories through the iconic properties that we work with.
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director, Partnership Sales will be responsible for driving significant corporate partnership revenue to Fenway Sports Group’s portfolio with a primary focus on the PGA TOUR, LPGA and Boston Common Golf.  The role will be based in FSM’s New York office and will have the ability to sell across the FSM portfolio of properties including Liverpool FC, RFK Racing, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Red Sox, LRMR, Fulwell, Hana Kuma, and the Rajasthan Royals.  The individual will be a part of the broader FSM Partnership Sales group across Boston and New York and will work collaboratively across teams.

New York City’s Pay Transparency laws require disclosure of salary ranges in job advertisements and the base salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $100,000-$130,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the new business sales process from start to finish – build and manage an individual prospect list, lead thoughtful introductory calls, foster meaningful relationships with brand marketers, ideate creative solutions-oriented platforms, manage proposal and pitch process, and participate in the negotiation and execution of new partner contracts.
  • Drive significant corporate partnership revenue across focus properties to contribute to departmental budgets.
  • Identify prospects in a thoughtful and strategic manner to secure meetings.
  • Develop creative go-to-market strategies to engage with C-Level marketers and secure partners.
  • Regular tracking and reporting of pipeline progress across identified properties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the sports, advertising, and media industries.
  • Act as a representative of FSM and FSG by attending property-specific events, conferences and partner meetings.
  • Willingness to travel to visit prospects in-market.

CHARACTERSTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar field is required.
  • Proven ability to set and deliver on clear, ambitious goals and to be accountable for partnership sales results.
  • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving sports marketing and media landscape.
  • Knowledge and experience in negotiating complex national and global partnerships.
  • A great teammate and excellent at working in and promoting a team culture. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to ideate and build marketing platforms/solutions for prospective brands.
  • Possess a working knowledge of research tools used in the industry.
  • Ability to work exceptionally with a broad cross-section of functional internal teams. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability or experience in selling across multi-property partnerships preferred.
