Position:  The Somerset Patriots, the AA affiliate of the NY Yankees, are hiring seasonal groundskeepers to help with maintaining the playing field and grounds at TD Bank Ballpark.  Candidates should have an interest in working in sports, be reliable, and enjoy working outside.  Prior landscaping or turf experience is preferred but not required provided you are willing to learn and work hard.  Qualified candidates must be available for an in-person interview at TD Bank Ballpark.  Applications can be submitted through the link provided or by emailing your resume and cover letter to the head groundskeeper through the team's website.

Schedule:  The position is from 3/9-11/6 and applicants must be able to work full time hours during the season including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the game schedule.  Non-game day hours are normally M-F 8:30am-4:30pm and game day hours follow two rotating shifts.  Shift #1 is 8:30am-3:45pm and shift #2 is 3:15pm-10:30pm.  Hours can change depending on game times and weather conditions.  Off days are scheduled after each homestand and vacation time is permitted during the summer when the team is away.

Job Description:  Assist with maintaining the playing field and grounds including dragging the infield, repairing pitching mound / HP areas, field painting, mowing, edging, tarp pulls, general landscape maintenance, seeding, aeration, hand watering, sod repair, set up for practice / games / events, post-game field and dugout cleanup and other duties as assigned.  Must be willing to work in a variety of weather conditions including rain and heat and will assist with tarping the field during inclement weather.  Training is provided on grounds equipment including mowers, infield pro, utility vehicles, edgers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers.

Pay:  $16.42 / hr and averages 40 hrs per week
