Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for live events and holiday magic? WinterWorld Richmond is seeking a high-energy Stage Manager to bring our inaugural winter festival to life at CarMax Park.
In this role, you will oversee all programming, live entertainment, and stage productions. You will be the driving force behind the festive energy, managing everything from talent, event calendar, audio/visual coordination, to night-of-show logistics.
This is a seasonal independent contractor engagement and is not an employee position. The individual engaged will be responsible for applicable taxes and will not be eligible for employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- Show Production: Direct daily showtimes, manage stage setups, and coordinate with technical crews (sound, lighting). Run daily pre-show technical checks.
- Team Leadership: Supervise on-site entertainment staff and character handlers to ensure smooth operations.
- Logistics & Scheduling: Scout, schedule and manage the main stage entertainment calendar, balancing nightly performance slots across a multi-week festival run.
- Management: Coordinate scheduled entertainment, including technical requirements, arrival and departure procedures, on-site logistics, and ticket distribution.
- Guest Relations: Ensure all performances maintain a high-quality, family-friendly atmosphere that aligns with the WinterWorld brand and our title sponsor, SERVEPRO.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce safety protocols for performers, technical crew, and guests during all live activations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in event production, live entertainment management, theater, or theme park operations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage diverse teams of artists, technicians, and seasonal staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of live sound, event lighting, and stage management protocols.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day).
