ABOUT THE COMPANY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have established themselves as one of the most recognizable brands in Minor League Baseball since their inaugural season in 2010. Guided by three pillars – be different, be impactful and have FUNN – the organization has ingrained itself in Central Virginia, annually reaching more than 10,000 students through the club's education programs while making 400-plus community appearances. Additionally, the team has renovated multiple youth baseball and softball fields across the city and have awarded numerous higher education scholarships through its 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Flying Squirrels Charities. The Flying Squirrels consistently rank among the top-drawing teams in MiLB having led all 30 Double-A teams in total and average attendance each of the past four seasons. Now looking forward to the 2026 season, the Flying Squirrels are excited to start their next chapter at the new CarMax Park!
 
JOB SUMMARY:  
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are seeking a self-motivated professional who is eager to elevate their career in the sports entertainment industry with one of the country’s most dynamic brands by building relationships with clients and coordinating memorable gameday experiences. This position will build relationships, identify new clients, and provide exceptional customer service to all patrons for the 2026 season at the new CarMax Park. Upholding the Richmond Flying Squirrels brand of having FUNN, making memories and creating a positive impact in RVA for our partners, community and fans in an inclusive environment is a must for this role.  
 

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
  • Deliver first-class customer service that drives value and memorable experiences for fans.
  • Partner with the Membership Services team to ensure season ticket members receive and fully enjoy all benefits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and organizations by representing the organization at relevant local events and activations.
  • Execute proactive ticket sales outreach through cold calling, prospecting, and referrals to generate new business.
  • Consistently meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals in support of overall Season Membership objectives.
  • Process ticket orders using ProVenue and FEVO, while accurately tracking leads and accounts in ZOHO CRM.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, providing clear updates on pipeline activity, sales performance, outside appointments, events, and account management.
  • Collaborate with Hospitality Operations to ensure hospitality areas are delivered with exceptional service and attention to detail.
  • Engage with current and prospective customers during home games to strengthen relationships and drive sales opportunities.
  • Represent the sales team on assigned game days, serving as an on-site point of contact in designated areas.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Strategic, organized, and self-motivated, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and professionalism when interacting with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proven success generating new business and expanding revenue sources in a collaborative sales environment.
  • One to two years of ticket sales or related sales experience strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, speak, and hear/listen. The employee is frequently required to sit. They are occasionally required to lift, carry, push, pull, handle, grasp, and employ eye/hand/foot coordination. The position requires constant light or moderate work and occasionally work that requires heavy physical effort.  
The position is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and humidity and frequent elevated noise levels.
