The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have established themselves as one of the most recognizable brands in Minor League Baseball since their inaugural season in 2010. The Flying Squirrels consistently rank among the top-drawing teams in MiLB having led all 30 Double-A teams in total and average attendance each of the past three seasons.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic individual to support the Promotions & Community Engagement Department in community outreach, fan engagement & entertainment to promote the Flying Squirrels brand. This role is responsible for leading in-game entertainment, managing the Funn Bunch Promo Team, coordinating pregame and postgame activities, and assisting in the planning and execution of all promotional events. This position is an ideal fit for someone passionate about the Sports Entertainment industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Represent and promote the Flying Squirrels brand and upcoming events at tabling, community, & school appearances on weekends and/or during office hours.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage the Funn Bunch Promotional & Entertainment Team.
- Lead the Funn Bunch during home games, overseeing execution of all between-inning contests, managing props and prize setups, ensuring waiver compliance, and managing payroll.
- Assist with the execution of pregame activities including giveaways, performances, National Anthems, ceremonial first pitches, and youth team appearances.
- Support postgame elements such as Kids Run the Bases, raffles, exit giveaways, and firework cleanup.
- Collaborate with the Promotions Department on planning and executing all 70 home games, including theme nights, promotional giveaways, and specialty jersey events.
- Coordinate with Major League Baseball’s Club Services Representative to obtain approval for promotional themes.
- Work with promotional item vendors in tandem with the Director of Promotions to develop giveaways while adhering to budget and delivery timelines.
- Design and develop all between-inning games and fan engagement activities.
- Assist in hiring and managing additional game day entertainment, including bands, DJs, dance teams, and other in-house entertainment groups.
- Be willing to wear costumes and participate in fun, high-energy entertainment elements throughout the season.

- Proven work ethic and a genuine passion for community engagement, promotions, and the sports entertainment industry.
- Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and all 70 Flying Squirrels home games.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in the sports or entertainment industry is preferred.
- Ability to safely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
