Job Summary
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are seeking dedicated and hardworking Field Operations Crew Members to help maintain the playing surface and facilities at CarMax Park. Field Operations Crew Members assist with daily field preparation, maintenance, event setup, and post-game cleanup, contributing to the overall quality and appearance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the field operations team with all aspects of pre-game preparation, including dragging, lining, and watering the field to ensure a safe and professional playing surface.
- Participate in post-game field maintenance, including repairing the infield, rebuilding the pitcher’s mound and home plate areas, managing moisture levels, and performing turf maintenance.
- Support daily maintenance of CarMax Park’s playing surface and surrounding areas to meet professional baseball standards and ensure field readiness for practices, games, and special events.
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds equipment safely and efficiently, including tractors, utility vehicles, blowers, infield drags, and other specialized turf management machinery.
- Assist with setup, teardown, and cleanup for additional stadium events such as community events and on-field promotions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the maintenance areas and equipment storage facilities.
- Collaborate with fellow grounds crew members to complete tasks efficiently and uphold the organization’s standards of quality and professionalism.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operation.
Qualifications
- Highly motivated, positive team player with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and summer holidays as needed.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. or more and standing for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, and humidity.
