ABOUT THE COMPANY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have established themselves as one of the most recognizable brands in Minor League Baseball since their inaugural season in 2010. Guided by three pillars – be different, be impactful and have FUNN – the organization has ingrained itself in Central Virginia, annually reaching more than 10,000 students through the club's education programs while making 400-plus community appearances. Additionally, the team has renovated multiple youth baseball and softball fields across the city and awarded numerous scholarships through its 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Flying Squirrels Charities. The Flying Squirrels consistently rank among the top-drawing teams in MiLB having led all 30 Double-A teams in total and average attendance each of the past four seasons.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are seeking a creative and strategic Digital Media Manager to create engaging content for one of sports entertainment’s most dynamic brands. This role is responsible for developing and executing a dynamic content strategy that engages fans, strengthens the team’s brand, and supports marketing and partnership goals. The ideal candidate has a strong visual eye, expertise in social media strategy, and a proven ability to grow and engage audiences across digital platforms. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·        Develop, manage, and execute the team’s social media content calendar.
·        Partner with the Director of Marketing to implement digital media strategies that meet established KPIs.
·        Produce high-quality, engaging, and entertaining multimedia content that aligns with the team’s voice and brand narrative.
·        Establish a consistent tone and visual identity across all digital media platforms.
·        Monitor and engage with fans and followers in a timely and professional manner.
·        Analyze audience metrics and insights to guide content and strategy decisions.
·        Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop promotional strategies for both game-day and non-game events.
·        Contribute to and help maintain editorial content on the team’s official website.
·        Coordinate with the Creative Services team to design and update graphic templates for game-day and non-game events.
·        Coordinate with the Promotions and Creative Services teams to integrate repurposed digital content into the in-game presentation.
·        Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships and the Director of Marketing to identify, develop, and measure sponsorable digital media assets.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
·        Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or Public Relations is preferred.
·        Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
·        Minimum 2 years of experience managing digital media channels for a professional sports team, athletic department, or related entertainment brand.
·        Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign).
·        Strong photography and/or videography skills with an eye for storytelling.
·        Experience with website CMS platforms preferred.
·        Proficient copywriting and editorial skills.
·        Proven track record of growing audiences and engagement across multiple digital media platforms.
·        Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to meet shared objectives.
·        Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires constant light or moderate work and occasionally work that requires heavy physical effort. The position is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and humidity and frequent elevated noise levels.
