ABOUT THE COMPANY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have established themselves as one of the most recognizable brands in Minor League Baseball since their inaugural season in 2010. Guided by three pillars – be different, be impactful and have FUNN – the organization has ingrained itself in Central Virginia, annually reaching more than 10,000 students through the club's education programs while making 400-plus community appearances. Additionally, the team has renovated multiple youth baseball and softball fields across the city and awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships through its 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Flying Squirrels Charities. The Flying Squirrels consistently rank among the top-drawing teams in MiLB having led all 30 Double-A teams in total and average attendance each of the past three seasons.
 
JOB SUMMARY: 
The Account Manager will be responsible for tracking and implementing activations included in designated corporate partnership agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and adept at building lasting relationships with partners, while meeting deadlines and delivering outstanding results. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
  • Provide exceptional client service while building strong, long-term relationships with corporate partners.
  • Learn and understand the goals and objectives of each of the organization’s corporate partners to ensure proper implementation of assets included in their partnership agreement with the team.
  • Manage the planning and execution of promotional elements, media scheduling, signage, and print materials by coordinating with internal departments and external partners, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate and regularly communicate internally with all departments to fulfill partnership assets.
  • Implement all contractual elements for designated corporate partnership accounts.
  • Represent the team during games, events, and community initiatives - entertaining current corporate partners and cultivating new client prospects as needed. 
  • Assist with front-of-house partnership activations including but not limited to giveaways, tabling events, exit distributions, etc. 
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships team to generate recommendations for corporate partners including retail activation, in-stadium promotions, special events and community outreach ideas.
  • Assist in the development of creative activation programs and co-branded marketing opportunities.
  • Produce deliverables to meet reporting deadlines requested by corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services team to produce partnership proof of performance recaps.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent in Sports Management, Event Management or Hospitality, and 2+ years professional experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in integrated marketing with demonstrated success in the media, sport sponsorship or entertainment fields.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Goal-oriented team player with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be flexible to frequently work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, speak, and hear/listen.  The employee is frequently required to sit. The position requires constant light or moderate work and occasionally work that requires heavy physical effort. The position is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and humidity and frequent elevated noise levels.
