The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are committed to delivering an exceptional fan experience at every game and event at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field. Our staff plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe, and memorable atmosphere for all guests.

Position Summary
The Usher serves as a front-line ambassador for the Portland Sea Dogs, ensuring fans have a positive, safe, and enjoyable experience at Delta Dental Park. Ushers provide exceptional customer service, assist with seating, monitor assigned sections, and help maintain a secure and family-friendly environment during games and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet fans with enthusiasm and professionalism upon arrival
  • Check tickets and direct guests to the appropriate seating sections
  • Assist fans in locating seats and resolving seating questions
  • Monitor assigned seating areas to ensure safety and comfort
  • Enforce ballpark policies in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Provide accurate information regarding ballpark amenities, promotions, and special events
  • Assist with crowd flow before, during, and after games
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns and communicate issues to supervisors
  • Support emergency procedures and safety protocols as directed
  • Enhance the Fan Experience

Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in high-energy situations
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods (3–4+ hours)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season
  • Ability to work at least 75% of the Sea Dogs’ home games

Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or event staffing
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of baseball or interest in sports and live events

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
