Position Summary
Event Staff members play a vital role in delivering a smooth and welcoming ticketing experience during Portland Sea Dogs home games. Working primarily in the ticket office, these individuals provide exceptional customer service while assisting fans with ticket purchases, will-call pickups, and general ticketing questions. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and relationship-building are essential, as the ultimate goal is to enhance the overall fan experience at Hadlock Field.
In addition to working inside the ticket office, Event Staff may also be tasked with providing ticket assistance remotely on the front plaza. This includes helping fans with mobile ticketing, account access, and general ticket-related questions while working outdoors and potentially in varying weather conditions. Associates will also support the ticket office with phone orders, data collection, and other duties as assigned.
Time Commitment & Schedule
- Game Weeks: 1–4 days per week
- Shift Length: Approximately 2–3 hours per game
- Shift Timing: Most shifts begin mid-afternoon and conclude in the mid-evening, with occasional daytime games mixed into the schedule
- Additional Opportunities: Extra hours may be available on game days after duties are fulfilled in the ticket office if assistance is needed in the team store
Qualifications & Requirements
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods of time, including outdoors
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions when assigned to the front plaza
- Computer literacy, including basic use of Word and Excel
- Prior ticketing system experience is a plus, but not required
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver a reliable and positive experience for all fans and guests
- Assist with phone, walk-up, and online ticket sales
- Provide in-person ticket assistance both inside the ticket office and remotely on the front plaza
- Clearly explain ticketing options and technologies to fans
- Troubleshoot and resolve ticketing issues as they arise
- Provide information on game details and upcoming promotions
- Serve as a flexible team player, willing to assist in multiple areas of the operation
