Portland Sea Dogs Clubhouse Manager

The goal of the Portland Sea Dogs clubhouse operation is to provide the highest level of service to players, coaches, and staff of the Boston Red Sox, visiting teams, and umpires of the Eastern League, by providing a safe and clean clubhouse and locker room atmosphere conducive to player and umpire development.

Home Clubhouse Manager:

The Home Clubhouse Manager, under the direct supervision of the General Manager, is directly responsible for the maintenance, operation, and service of the home clubhouse. This includes the locker room, coaches and manager’s office, trainer’s room, food service area, laundry room, bathrooms/shower areas, weight room, and batting cages for the entirety of the season.

Duties: The duties and responsibilities of the Home Clubhouse Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness including following strict cleaning standards at all times.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow all PDL requirements, including all necessary clubhouse amenities
  • Ability to maintain a secure clubhouse at all times.
  • Ability to multitask by fulfilling high volume of team requests.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean & professional appearance.
  • Ability to compile budgets and manage and schedule clubhouse staff
  • Work directly with the Red Sox nutrition department to ensure all nutrition requirements are exceeded. This includes shopping for and picking up arranged meals and clubhouse amenities.
  • Inventory and Control of all Portland Sea Dog clubhouse property and equipment. *Supervision and scheduling of clubhouse staff assigned to the home and visiting clubhouse.
  • Setup of the clubhouse before the beginning of baseball season.
  • Regular shopping trips for food and other items relative to the operation of the clubhouse.
  • Communication with home team trainers and strength coaches to schedule arrival times to the field.
  • Meet the home team bus at the field for unloading following road trips
  • Ability to perform the day-to-day duties of a traditional Clubhouse Manager
  • Prior experience in collegiate or professional sports clubhouse management is preferred

General Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand and move around for more than six hours during game days
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays
