SUMMARY:
The Box Office Intern is responsible for assisting the Director of Ticket Operations with the entire box office operation including selling and providing customer service. The intern will gain customer service, event management, and sales experience working in the ticket office for the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES IN THE BOX OFFICE:
- Assist Director of Ticket Operations with developing, and supervising of box office to ensure customer needs are being met and that the box office operation is consistently efficient.
- Perform opening and closing procedures of the box office on both game days and non-game days.
- Plan assignments, prioritize tasks, and assign those tasks to associates, determine the techniques to be used to accomplish the task, and ensure the satisfactory completion of the assigned work.
- Account for all ticket sales and establish and maintain seating plans.
- Review all accounting of package purchases and daily sales and ensure they are correct and accurate.
- Assist all necessary reports, paperwork, and accounting procedures which includes end of day and shift reports.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:
- At times help may be needed in other areas of the ballpark other than the Box Office. All interns and staff members are required to work all 69 home games during the season, pull tarp, and help as needed in any and all departments.
SCHEDULE
- All paid interns can expect to work long hours, especially on game days. Report times on game days will typically be at 10:00 a.m. and shifts will end once all work is completed, typically at the completion of the game. Interns will be scheduled from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on non-game weekdays. Must be able to work all Curve home games during the duration of internship, have reliable transportation to the Altoona area, and arrive at work promptly each day.
