Summary: Rare opportunity to lead a cornerstone of Northeast Ohio sports. The Akron RubberDucks are looking for a visionary President/GM to cultivate a championship-level fan experience at 7 17 Credit Union Park and drive record-breaking revenues.

The Akron RubberDucks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, are seeking an accomplished, visionary, and results-oriented President / General Manager to lead all business operations of the organization. This executive role is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the franchise, driving sustainable revenue growth, delivering an exceptional fan experience, developing organizational talent, and strengthening the RubberDucks’ impact throughout the Akron community—while maintaining strong alignment with the Cleveland Guardians and Minor League Baseball.
The President / General Manager has full oversight of all non-baseball operations, including ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, community relations, stadium operations, and food & beverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership & Strategy
• Provide executive leadership and overall direction for the organization’s business operations
• Establish and execute long-term strategic vision, annual operating plans, and revenue objectives
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing senior leadership team and front office staff
• Foster a culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, creativity, integrity, and inclusiveness
• Champion innovation across all departments to keep the organization competitive, agile, and forward-thinking
Community Relations & External Affairs
• Act as the primary public-facing representative and ambassador of the Akron RubberDucks across media, events, and the community.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, business partners, media, and civic organizations
• Provide strategic leadership for community outreach, charitable initiatives, youth programs, and grassroots engagement efforts that align with and reinforce the organization’s core values.
Revenue Growth & Financial Oversight
• Drive all revenue-generating functions, including ticket sales, premium seating, sponsorships, and promotions
• Oversee the development and execution of corporate partnership and sponsorship strategies
• Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities, including non-baseball events and year-round stadium utilization
• Maintain full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
Marketing, Brand & Fan Experience
• Oversee brand strategy, advertising, digital engagement, and promotional planning
• Ensure a best-in-class fan experience across all touchpoints, from game-day operations to community events
• Collaborate with the Cleveland Guardians on brand standards, marketing initiatives, and organizational reporting
Operations & Governance
• Provide strategic oversight of stadium operations, guest services, and food and beverage functions to enhance the overall fan experience and engagement.
• Ensure full compliance with Minor League Baseball, MLB, and Cleveland Guardians policies and standards
• Coordinate with baseball operations leadership as needed while maintaining clear operational boundaries

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in sports, entertainment, or a related industry
• Demonstrated success leading multi-department organizations with full financial accountability
• Proven success in revenue generation, sales leadership, and strategic growth
• Deep understanding of sports operations, fan engagement, and the dynamics of competitive sports markets
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and public-facing leadership skills
• Passion for baseball, community engagement, and delivering fan-first experiences
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Experience
• Strong network of senior-level business relationships in Northeast Ohio
• Experience working within MiLB or professional sports organizations
• Experience overseeing large teams and multiple functional departments
• Proven track record of innovative revenue strategies, brand growth, and partnership development
