The Diamond Baseball League (DBL) is a professional-grade collegiate summer baseball league which will begin play in 2026. The League has secured its inaugural six markets in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, which include first class facilities and multi-year stadium leases.
The league will own and operate each of the six inaugural teams to ensure operational consistency and efficiency and the long-term financial security and growth of the League. The DBL management team has over 100 years of combined professional sports experience, including ownership and operation of collegiate summer, independent and minor league teams, and leadership positions in Major League Baseball.
Teams will play a 50-game schedule (30 home games, 20 road games) from late May into the first week of August, 2026. The League will hire a coaching staff for each team that will handle player development issues, including securing and managing the team’s roster.
The DBL is seeking a General Manager for each of its six teams who will oversee the day-to-day operations of their team and be the primary revenue driver for the franchise via sponsorship sales in the local community. The General Manager will supervise, manage and is responsible for the day-to-day operating budget under the direction of the League Office.
The General Manager will work with the League Office in all phases of operating the franchise including sponsorship sales, food and beverage operations, marketing, team, and stadium operations. The successful candidate will create and maintain a presence in the local community through speaking engagements and attending social / business functions to develop both the team’s brand and generate leads to enhance team revenues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Management experience with a baseball franchise.
- Demonstrated ability to sell sponsorships for a sports organization.
- Ability to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities and build business relationships.
- Proven leadership and talent management skills, experience successfully leading, and developing a strong and growing department or division.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented operational manager
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can handle frequent changes.
- Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
