The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are seeking a motivated and hard-working Manager, Field Operations who will be responsible for the management, planning, and implementation of the agronomic program for the Delta Dental Stadium. This role will oversee the daily maintenance of the playing surface and all ballpark greenspaces. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the groundskeeping team.
  • Assist with planning and execution of projects, including field conversions and cultural practices.
  • Train and mentor grounds staff for daily work and event coverage.
  • Oversee inventory management of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Perform and assist with general field maintenance duties, including mowing, fertilizing, maintaining pitching mounds and home plate areas, dragging and moisture management of infield skin, field marking, edging, aerating, topdressing, verticutting, replacing sod, and tarping.
  • Assist in facilitating on-field events such as high school and college baseball games and non-baseball events.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, coaches, and players to ensure field readiness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide input and help execute a seasonal agronomic plan
  • Assist in irrigation repairs and system tuning.
  • Learn tarp management during varying weather situations
  • Learn and perform various other duties from time to time as assigned by the Director, Field Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in Turfgrass Management preferred, but not required.
  • 1+ years of experience in athletic field maintenance required (3+ years preferred) including experience with field maintenance on professional and/or collegiate baseball fields.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain turf-related equipment and machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Flexible to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Capable of engaging in strenuous physical activity, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to work in variable weather conditions, including heat, wind, and rain.
