Status: Part-Time | Non-Exempt | Seasonal
Hours of Work: Flexible schedule required, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available during the baseball season and able to arrive up to one (1) hour prior to game time.

About the Fayetteville Woodpeckers:
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are the Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros and play at Segra Stadium in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina. Since their inaugural season in 2019, the Woodpeckers have been committed to delivering an exceptional fan experience while making a meaningful impact in the local community through outreach, partnerships, and charitable initiatives.

Position Overview:
The Community Relations Associate supports the planning and execution of the Woodpeckers’ community engagement and charitable programs. This role will assist with outreach initiatives, donation requests, and event coordination while helping to strengthen relationships with local organizations and fans. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in sports, community relations, and event execution within a professional baseball organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  •  Assist with the execution of community relations programs, including Bunker’s All-Star School Reading Program and Bunker’s Buddies Kids Club 
  •  Coordinate and manage the Woodpeckers “Community Table” program 
  •  Process and fulfill donation requests in a timely and organized manner 
  •  Support the planning and implementation of community initiatives and outreach efforts 
  •  Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit and community organizations 
  •  Attend and support community events, including player and mascot appearances 
  •  Assist the Marketing department and other departments with day-to-day tasks as needed 
  •  Perform additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
  •  Positive attitude with a strong sense of professionalism and accountability 
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  •  Outgoing personality with a passion for community engagement 
  •  Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  •  Reliable transportation

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time)

  •  Frequent use of hands and arms; occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing stairs 
  •  Ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and group settings
