The job of a Patron Screener is to ensure a safe and secure environment at Whataburger Field by assisting with the screening of all Guests and bags that enter the stadium. This position is a seasonal position that includes nights and weekends during the Spring and Summer. 

This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Ensure the safety, security, and positive experience for our Guests, Employees, Contractors, and Event Staff at Whataburger Field.

·         Conduct security screening of Guests, Employees, Contractors, and Event Staff utilizing walkthrough metal detectors, handheld metal detection wands, and bag searching techniques.

·         Retain an extensive knowledge of Whataburger Field permitted and prohibited items. 

·         Understand and implement credentialing system, identifying various ID badges and what access level(s) they are granted.

·         Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted aeras.

·         Greet Guests upon their arrival to the arena and say farewell as they depart. 

·         Assist with Ingress/Egress crowd management and line control for events.

·         Attend pre-event briefings to obtain event-specific details. 

·         Assist with emergency procedures including evacuations. Ensure the safe and efficient evacuation of the facility.

·         Never leaving your metal detector unattended.

·         Provide great customer service for the fan experience

·         Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks

·         Ability to stand for long periods of time

·         Have reliable transportation to and from work

This job operates in a stadium setting. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.  This job will be expected to work indoor and outdoor in moderate weather conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. This role must have attention to detail using vision. 

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel is not expected in this role.
