Sponsorship Sales & Activation: Corporate Sponsorship Sales
The Columbus Professional Baseball Club, a member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH), is the newest Minor League Baseball team based in Columbus, GA. Currently, the team is  conducting a $50M renovation of Golden Park where the team, the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, will take the field for the first time in April of 2025.
 
Position Overview:
The Columbus Professional Baseball Club are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented sales professional to generate and develop new sponsorship sales revenue including but not limited to, entitlement rights, stadium signage & experiences, in-game promotions, digital, print, radio, hospitality, and promotional nights. The Director, Corporate Partnerships will take a hands-on approach to selling and managing the Columbus Professional Baseball Club sponsorship and advertising products while providing some strategic and analytical support to the broader team. The Director, Corporate Partnerships will report to and collaborate with the General Manager & Assistant General Manager. 
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Sell and service corporate partnerships, season ticket packages and group events
  • Strategize on overall direction of department including inventory, sales, service, analytics, and continued development
  • Research, identify, and track sponsorship prospects locally with a view to grow regionally, and nationally, within target industries and segments
  • Attend networking and community events to establish a visible/vocal presence in the community, as well as build a strong sales pipeline
  • Analyze each client’s needs by asking a series of qualifying questions and performing a needs analysis 
  • Provide weekly reporting of sales metrics including pipeline generation, account status, revenue and quota attainment, and relevant sponsor interaction.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
  • Create and maintain quality relationships with parties that directly impact the sales processes (DigiDeck, Zoominfo, CORE, etc.)
  • Lead all staff that participates in sponsorship sales
  • Develop a full suite of assets and packages for sale
  • Lead weekly corporate sales meetings (sales updates, training, brainstorming, etc.)
  • Ensure execution of all contracts and other documents associated with partnerships. Oversee accurate fulfillment of sponsor benefits as appropriate to their respective agreements
  • Assist in the strategic planning and implementation of all sponsorship initiatives
  • Assist in establishing individual and team sales goals
  • Assist in the development of inventory pricing and sponsorship materials from year-to-year
  • Assist in year-end sponsorship sales reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred
  • 3+ years in sales and business development role; ability to demonstrate consistent history of exceeding sales goals preferably within professional sports organizations
  • Minimum of two (2) year of management/leadership experience
  • Experience and knowledge of systems (TicketMaster, Tickets.com, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of DigiDeck, Zoom Info & KORE a plus
  • Proven ability to be a leader in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Desire to go above and beyond the responsibilities of the role for the greater good of the team
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to varying levels of clients
  • Strong understanding of strategic analysis as it pertains to the sales process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Outstanding work-ethic, confidence, and creativity
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships with all staff

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
