PA ANNOUNCER (Seasonal)

OVERVIEW
The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and are committed to setting the standard for excellence in Minor League Baseball. As the official game-day voice of the team and Truist Field, the PA Announcer plays a pivotal role in creating an engaging and memorable ballpark experience. This position is responsible for energizing fans, delivering key information, and maintaining a professional yet lively atmosphere during home games.

Auditions will be on January 21st from 6pm-9pm.  After applying, if chosen as a finalist, a member of the Charlotte Knights front office will reach out to you to set up your audition time.

JOB TYPE

·         Status: Seasonal Compensation 

·         Hours: On baseball game days, roles begin approximately two hours before first pitch through the completion of the game.

 

·         Announce player introductions, starting lineups, in-between-inning activities, acknowledgements, and spontaneous activations with clarity and enthusiasm.

·        Deliver sponsor messages, promotional announcements, and special recognitions in a manner that is both clear and engaging.

·        Maintain a professional, positive, and energetic tone to enhance the overall fan experience.

·        Adapt quickly to live-game situations and unexpected changes.

·        Collaborate effectively with the On-Field Host and Director of Game Presentation & Production, taking direction and working as part of a team.

·         Prior experience as a PA announcer, broadcaster, or public speaker is preferred but not required.

·        Strong vocal presence with clear articulation, enthusiasm, and energy.

·        Solid understanding of baseball rules, terminology, and timing is highly preferred.

·        Availability for 95% of the 75 home games (primarily evenings and weekends); must be dependable, punctual, and a team player.

·        Availability for other Events such as the ACC Tournament, College Games and more.

·         Professional broadcast tone with the ability to inject excitement and energy appropriately. 

·        Strong attention to detail and timing. 

·        Adaptable and composed under pressure or during live-event curveballs. 

·        Team-oriented, positive attitude, and a passion for elevating the fan experience.

·        Comfortable serving as the authoritative voice of the ballpark while maintaining vocal energy.
