The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the New York Mets’ Double-A affiliate, are seeking a Broadcasting & Media Relations Assistant to serve as one of the key members of the team's broadcast, media relations, and social media operations. This position will report directly to the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.
Time Frame / Work Schedule: (March 2026 – September 2026): Seasonal position begins in late March and concludes at the end of the season. Candidates with strong on-air ability who can work all 69+ home games at Mirabito Stadium, in addition to traditional office hours while the team is on the road will be strongly considered. There will be the possibility of traveling with the team for one or more series, depending on performance. The Broadcasting & Media Relations Assistant is expected to help contribute to social media content, including live-tweeting all 138+ home and road games.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Provide three innings of play-by-play for all 69+ Binghamton Rumble Ponies home games, which are simulcast to terrestrial radio (WNBF News Radio 1290 AM & 92.1 FM and MiLB.TV & Bally Sports Live.
· Conduct post-game player interview on-field following home games for in-stadium production, as well as radio and TV broadcast.
· Assist in publication and distribution of all team media materials including stat packs, game notes, rosters, lineup cards, press releases, and box scores.
· Contribute daily to all Binghamton Rumble Ponies social media channels.
· Live-tweet all home and road games.
· Stay up to date on radio commercial log for WNBF News Radio, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies' radio flagship.
· Ability to host pre- and post-game show and conduct pregame interviews with players and coaches as needed.
· Produce daily game notes for home and road games. Publish game notes on team’s website and distribute to the local and national media.
· Help with all roster transactions, in conjunction with the New York Mets.
· Publish press releases, game recaps, written features, probable starting pitchers and other multimedia content to team’s website.
· Work traditional office hours on road gamedays to prepare and publish media relations and social media content, in addition to live-tweeting.
· Assist local and national media outlets with team inquiries, credentialing, and other requests as necessary.
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in baseball play-by-play
· Proficient in using Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition)
· Knowledge and experience working with audio/radio equipment
· Ability to shoot and edit both video and photo
· Strong understanding and enthusiasm for social media and content creation
· Experience working in a live production setting (radio or television)
· Undeniable work ethic and strong attention to detail
· Outstanding verbal and communication, along with written skills
· Passionate leader with strong organizational and technical skills
· Strong baseball knowledge and knowledge of the New York Mets is a plus
· Familiarity with Minor League Baseball’s web interfaces preferred
Compensation: $16.00 per hour
