POSITION SUMMARY (PURPOSE OF POSITION):
The Minor League Bench Coach position assists in the oversight and implementation of the Colorado Rockies development philosophies and practices at the assigned Fresno affiliate. This position supports the manager and coaching staff by assisting with in-game strategy, player development plans, and team preparation through an understanding of baseball fundamentals, coaching techniques, and leadership skills.
POSITION DETAILS:
- Assist affiliate staff to provide necessary resources for players, both on and off the field.
- Collaborate with the manager in regards to the on-field operations of games.
- Accountable for the development of staff at the assigned Fresno affiliate.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and winning.
- Exhibit leadership in thought process, decision making, creativity, and actions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with players, staff, coordinators, and front office to align a shared vision.
- Creatively seek out solutions to issues and challenges faced throughout the season.
- Maintain organization wide standards, expectations, and terminology in what is being taught.
- Coordinate player plan meetings and work.
- Oversee the implementation of organizational infield defense principles.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Previous experience working and playing professional baseball preferred.
- Extremely motivated, with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills, with the desire to learn and grow.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
- Detail-oriented, strong organization skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Passion for the game of baseball.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment to accomplish common goals.
- Experience with and a working understanding of current baseball technologies, programs, and evaluative tools.
- Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of the Club’s front office, on-field staff, and players.
- Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance, while presenting a professional image and demeanor.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with long hours, including weekend, evenings, and holidays.
- Travel will be required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual Salary Range: $71,000 to $80,000
