POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Major League Operations is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of player and family travel and services, while owning player administration and providing support for Team Travel. This role serves as a key partner to the Senior Director, Major League Operations and Baseball Operations leadership, ensuring seamless logistics, and a high level of service both at home and on the road while enhancing the player and family experience.
This position operates with a high degree of autonomy, exercising independent discretion and judgement to manage day-to-day operations and resolve issues as they arise. The role requires the ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment while supporting a diverse and international player population. The position is both operational and programmatic in nature, blending hands-on execution with ownership of processes, relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Player & Travel Operations
- Partner with the Senior Director, Major League Operations to plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of player and staff travel, including air, hotel, and ground transportation
- Exercise independent judgment to resolve travel disruptions, scheduling changes, and special accommodations in real time, when required
- Oversee spring training and in-season player housing processes
- Create the master manifests for the traveling party
- Ensure all players and staff have the required travel documentation for domestic and international travel
- Anticipate and proactively address travel-related needs, as needed
- Maintain accurate travel records and ensure alignment with organizational policies and league requirements
Player & Family Program Management
- Support the coordination and execution of the team’s family and spouses program, including travel logistics, communications, and events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with players’ families to identify needs and enhance engagement and support
- Contribute to program improvements to elevate the overall family experience
- Manage logistics for family-related events throughout Spring Training, the regular season, and postseason
- Serve as a trusted resource for players and families navigating travel and relocation-related matters
- Periodically check-in on the Family Room
Player & Travel Administration
- Create and maintain player and family onboarding programming
- Spearhead administrative programs, special projects, and operational initiatives
- Oversee administrative logistics for players and families, including required documentation, UKG onboarding, and ongoing support
- Serve as a liaison with HR and payroll for player-related administrative matters
- Maintain organized documentation, records, and tracking related to player services and travel administration
- Support budgeting, invoicing, and coding processes for Team Travel expenses
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, service quality, and consistency across operations
- Handle player expense reimbursements and related administrative processes
- Support logistics for MLB Winter Meetings, including room block coordination, suite setup, catering, and group events
Communication & Relationship Management
- Act as a liaison across players, families, coaches, and Baseball Operations staff to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Provide bilingual (Spanish/English) support to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all players and families
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Foster a service-oriented environment that reflects the organization’s values and commitment to excellence

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in sports operations, travel coordination, hospitality, or player services or related field
- Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complex logistics

- Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with sound judgment, and strict discretion in high-visibility environments

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in professional sports, baseball operations, or a related environment
- Experience supporting high-profile clients, executives, or athletes
- Familiarity with travel management systems and vendor coordination
- Experience managing programs or initiatives with multiple stakeholders
WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE
This role operates in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with significant variability in schedule based on the Major League Baseball season. The position requires frequent travel with the team and availability outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel via motor vehicle for road trips as needed
- Ability to frequently travel via air and ground transportation
- Ability to travel internationally, including Canada and Mexico, without contingencies
- Ability to work at least half of the home games
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to navigate stadium, hotel, and airport environments
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $70K-$85K, salaried, exempt role.
