The Wilmington Sharks are seeking a Data Analytics Intern to support our Baseball Operations department during the summer season. This role is built for someone who understands the game, is comfortable working with performance data, and can turn information into something that actually impacts decisions on the field.

You will work directly with coaches, players, and front office staff in a fast-paced, competitive environment where accuracy, consistency, and communication matter.

Key Responsibilities
• Tag pitches in TrackMan with a high level of accuracy and consistency during games and team activities
 • Operate and monitor baseball technology systems (TrackMan, Synergy, etc.)
 • Collect, organize, and distribute performance data, including:
 – Pitch metrics, movement profiles, and usage trends
 – Spray charts and batted-ball data
 – Exit velocity and swing performance trends
 • Create clear, coach-friendly scouting reports, including visual graphs and data summaries
 • Prepare daily and post-game reports for coaching staff and Baseball Operations
 • Assist with opponent scouting and advance preparation
 • Translate raw data into simple, actionable insights for on-field application

Required Qualifications
• Proficient in tagging pitches on TrackMan (this is a core responsibility)
 • Ability to create scouting report visuals/graphs using data (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools)
 • Strong understanding of baseball and in-game context
 • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to stay locked in during live games
 • Organized, dependable, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
 • Must have reliable housing for the duration of the season

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with TrackMan, Synergy, Rapsodo, or similar systems
 • Background in baseball (playing, coaching, or analytics)
 • Experience with data visualization or basic coding
 • Ability to clearly communicate insights to coaches and players
