The Wilmington Sharks are seeking a motivated Data Analytics Intern to support our Baseball Operations department during the summer season. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about the game, enjoys working with technology, and wants to gain firsthand experience in how data is used to support player development and in-game decision-making.

This role provides a unique opportunity to work directly with coaches, players, and front office staff by collecting, managing, and translating performance data into clear, practical insights.



Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor baseball technology systems such as TrackMan and Synergy during games and team activities
• Collect, organize, and distribute performance data, including:
– Spray charts and batted-ball profiles
– Pitch metrics and movement data
– Exit velocity trends and player performance patterns
• Prepare daily and post-game reports for coaching staff and Baseball Operations
• Assist with scouting preparation and opponent data breakdowns
• Help translate raw data into clear, actionable information for on-field use



Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest in baseball analytics, player development, or performance analysis
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and technology platforms
• Ability to communicate data insights in clear, baseball-friendly language
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team



Additional Experience That Stands Out

• Familiarity with TrackMan, Synergy, Rapsodo, or similar technology
• Experience with data visualization or basic coding
• Background in college baseball, coaching, or analytics coursework
