Overview
Collegiate Baseball Experience, LLC., based in Colonial Heights VA, combines competitive sports and sports entertainment to present a unique fan engagement experience offered by no other sports organization. The organization features multiple brands: the Tri-City Chili Peppers, a summer collegiate wood bat baseball team in the Coastal Plain League; the Chilly Peppers, an alter-ego team that plays exhibition games; the Cosmic Chili Peppers of the Cosmic Sports league; and the GlowMojis of the Cosmic Sports league.
Position Purpose
The Cosmic Baseball Operations Internship position will play a vital role in our growing national Cosmic Baseball tour. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position will assist with planning and implementation of operations processes, coordination and organization of operations equipment and supplies, stadium set up and tear down with each tour stop, and support of in-game experience initiatives for tour games.
This role will work with organizational leadership and colleagues to set and execute strategic objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
This position will start in March 2026 and rotate travel to the Cosmic Takeover Tour stops. At the end of the tour in mid-October, the position will end. This position DOES NOT require relocation to Virginia. You will be flown to the tour stops from your home base. Should additional full time positions be available after the season that an intern is a good fit for, you may be considered for one of those positions. We are a company that does believe in promoting from our intern staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Developing effective relations with operations staff of host sites.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory of operations equipment and supplies.
- Organizing operations equipment and tour trucks.
- Assisting with the set up of operations related items for game days. .
- Assisting with loading and unloading of tour trucks.
- Traveling to tour stops early with other staff and assisting with stadium set-up and tear-down.
- Assisting with other areas of game implementation as needed.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1 – 2 seasons in game day or stadium operations as an intern or other staff member
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of professional work experience and education.
- Functional knowledge of baseball is strongly preferred.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mentality.
- Extremely organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on writing and editing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must.
- Ability to work as business needs require, which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel when necessary.
- Must have U.S. work authorization.
Compensation
- Paid $15.00/hr and will work up to 40 hours a week
- Team pays for your travel to the tour sites, lodging and provide a meal per diem.
