Cosmic Sports is owned and operated by Collegiate Baseball Experience, LLC. Cosmic Sports combines entertainment technology, athleticism, fan engagement and merchandise and music to create the most unique sports entertainment experience. The use of black lights and other visual effects has helped Cosmic Sports usher in innovative way for fans to experience sports. Fans have described Cosmic Sports as “sports intertwined with a family friendly rave”. 

Position Purpose
The Show Director will play a vital role in our growing national cosmic baseball tour and beyond as we introduce new concepts.  Reporting to our Vice-President of Baseball Operations and owner, this position will assist with entertainment scheduling of the cosmic experience before, during and after the game. This position will play a vital role in cross departmental communication and scheduling.  Knowledge and prior use of ShoFlo is a valuable experience with this position.

The tour stops at a different location across the U.S. each week and ends October 17th. At each tour stop there are usually between 2-3 sold out games and game days are Thursday/Friday/Saturday. 

On-Field Entertainment
  • Produce, direct, and showcall Cosmic Baseball Games.
  • Work with entertainment and baseball operations staff to build game rundowns that include:
    • Pre-game block parties
    • VIP experiences
    • Fan engagement activities
    • Player skits and bits
    • Light, video and audio cue sequences
  • Track game flow to ensure all entertainment cues, props, and participants are executed on time. Adapting during the game to ensure timing is as good as possible.
  • In collaboration with leadership determine when halftime starts, Cosmic starts, and when the game ends. 
  • Meet with in-venue operators & engineers before arriving to get necessary information, educate on how our show runs, and ensure all technical requirements can be met.
  • Meet with broadcast teams before arriving to explain differences between Cosmic and normal baseball, go over shot requirements, and ensure all technical requirements can be met.

Compensation
  • Salary: $45,000-60,000/yr depending on experience
  • Tour: The organization will cover flight, ground transportation, lodging and food per diem
  • Option to participate in a health care plan
  • Option to participate in a 401K

Hours
  • During touring season, hours can vary between 9am-Midnight due to pre-game preparation, game times and post game wrap up
  • Travel to tour stop locations usually is on Wednesday/Thursday each week and Sunday is usually the return home. 
  • During the season, evening, night and weekend hours will be required based on the game schedule, tour needs, community events, special projects, and more
