Overview
Collegiate Baseball Experience, LLC., based in Colonial Heights VA, combines competitive sports and sports entertainment to present a unique fan engagement experience offered by no other sports organization. The organization features multiple brands: the Tri-City Chili Peppers, a summer collegiate wood bat baseball team in the Coastal Plain League; the Chilly Peppers, an alter-ego team that plays exhibition games; the Cosmic Chili Peppers of the Cosmic Sports league, and the GlowMojis of the Cosmic Sports league. 

Description
The Head Coach position will be a part of the cosmic baseball experience and go on tour in 2026 as a part of the 30-city Cosmic Takeover Tour that is mid-March through mid-October. Candidates should be able to start this position by the end of February 2026 at the latest. 

This role will provide leadership to the player experience on and off the field and ensure good partnership and collaboration with other departments, including social media and marketing, entertainment, merchandise, operations and more. The Head Coach will play an integral role in the implementation of a sports entertainment focused fan experience.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and communicate player practice schedule
  • Keep inventory and organization of player equipment 
  • Assist with packing of player equipment to ensure readiness for truck loading
  • Communicate players issues/concerns with organization leadership
  • Hold players accountable for fulfilling their responsibilities on and off the field
  • Build team cohesion and chemistry
  • Work with the Athletic Trainer to ensure player injuries are addressed in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborate with the entertainment team to ensure that players are cooperating with and adding value to entertainment discussions, practices and producing the final product
  • Create and communicate game day lineups 
  • Travel with the team and provide leadership during travel experience to ensure players are accounted for and the team is able to board the coordinated transportation option
  • Handout player per diem
  • Speak with media regarding the cosmic experience as requested

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of advanced baseball skill development
  • Able to lead and transform a group of individuals into a team
  • Prior experience coaching collegiate and professional sports teams
  • Understanding of the fan experience in sports entertainment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a professional, collaborative approach.
  • Extroverted personalities are a plus.

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $35,000-$40,000/year
  • Tour: The organization will cover flight, ground transportation, lodging and food per diem for staff that travel to tour locations.

Time Commitment
  • 9am-5pm Monday-Friday in person at Shepherd Stadium, 901 Meridian Avenue, Colonial Heights VA 
  • As preparation for the season picks up, hours outside of 9am-5pm and over the weekend will be required
  • During the season, evening, night and weekend hours will be required based on the game schedule, tour needs, community events, special projects, and more
  • Frequent travel between mid-March and mid-October
