          The Smithfield Tobs & JOCO TaterHogs are currently seeking enthusiastic candidates for the summer season who are ready to PUMP IT UP! The Tobs are an original member of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer league, owned by Capitol Broadcasting (Durham Bulls), certified by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. The Tobs & TaterHogs will launch their comeback season (relocation from Wilson to Smithfield) and play at a brand-new ballpark (@ Smithfield Community Park).

 General Responsibilities For All Positions

Will work side by side with a registered orthopedic physician & athletic trainer. This position requires the candidate to be available to work each home game (28 to 30) and youth camps (8 days).  This internship offers hands-on experience in injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and game-day medical coverage while working in a competitive collegiate athletics environment. The position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field who are seeking practical experience in sports medicine.

The Operations & Facility Event Management Intern will assist with the daily management of the facility, game-day operations, and special events. This internship provides hands-on experience in collegiate athletics by supporting facility preparation, event coordination, logistics, and operational planning for home games & events. The position is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Sports Management, Business Administration, Event Management, Recreation, or a related field.

The Promotions & Fan Entertainment Intern will assist in creating an exciting, engaging, and memorable fan experience during the season. This internship provides hands-on experience in sports marketing, event entertainment, promotions, community outreach, and fan engagement. The intern will help plan and execute promotions, coordinate on-field contests, manage game-day entertainment, and support community outreach initiatives. This position is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field.

The Sports Photography & Social Media Intern will play a key role in showcasing the organization through photography, video content, and strategic social media updates. The intern will capture the excitement of practices, games, events, and community outreach while helping grow the program's digital presence. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience for students pursuing careers in sports media, photography, digital marketing, athletic communications, or content creation.

Video Production & Sports Videography Intern 

The Video Production & Sports Videography Intern will assist the baseball program in producing quality video content that showcases the team experience, promotes the organization, and enhances fan engagement. The intern will film practices, games, events, promotions, and community appearances while creating compelling video content for promotional campaigns. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in sports videography, video editing, live event production, and digital storytelling.

Statistics & Data Analytics Intern 

The Statistics & Data Analytics Intern will assist the organization by keeping track of game day stats, running the Trackman system, and monitoring the Synergy cameras. The intern will communicate with the coaching staff by collecting, analyzing, and presenting baseball performance data to support player development, game strategy, player evaluation. This internship provides hands-on experience with sports analytics, statistical analysis, video breakdown, and performance reporting. The position is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Sports Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
